Dr. Madeline Hipkin, South Plainfield Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Madeline Hipkin

Madeline Hipkin joined the medical staff of Plainfield Animal Hospital in July 2023. She is a general practitioner who is particularly interested in internal medicine, anesthesia, and pain management. She is a member of the NJ Veterinary Medical Association.

Madeline credits her mom for her interest in animals. As the daughter of a veterinarian, Madeline spent her childhood in the office with her mom helping patients. During her summers in college, she worked as a veterinary technician in the hospital where her mom practiced. When asked what intrigues her about veterinary medicine, Madeline says, “I like how no two cases are the exact same, and the variety of cases keeps things challenging and interesting".

Madeline is a graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island where she received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She was the recipient of the G. Murray and Hagerman Scholarship. Before attending veterinary school, Madeline received her BS from Washington College in biology. She also minored in chemistry and was a member of the Tri Beta Honor Society.

When not at the hospital, Madeline fills her spare time with baking, quilting, knitting and gardening. She lives at home with her husband, Drew, who is a photographer/videographer. He loves taking photos of animals. Drew and Madeline are anxiously awaiting their daughter’s arrival this Fall!
